Staat oder Privat?

DATABUND - Federal association of medium-sized IT service providers and software manufacturers for the public sector
DATABUND was founded in January 2006 in order to offer a common forum for medium-sized IT service providers and software manufacturers for the public sector in Germany. By now, DATABUND is well-respected as a capable representative of the municipal IT sector‘s interests and has become an important contact for decision-makers and disseminators from politics and administration on state, federal and international level. DATABUND pools the expertise and experience of all leading medium-sized IT companies in the municipal sector and is thus a prominent contact point for all processes concerning municipal IT.
Many medium-sized manufacturers of software and administrative processes recognized the importance of a network across Germany: Mutual action, assertion of mutual interests, a purposeful communication between members, and subject-related campaigns. By employing this, the last two years turned the DATABUND forum and the joint trade-fair appearances more and more into a marketplace for municipal administrative applications and information technology - a meeting point for politics and administration.
Concerning the municipal IT sector, the new decade will decisively be defined by the terms "integration" and "communication". The great potentials for increasing the efficiency of municipal administrative actions lie in a consistent implementation of these principles. Topics like cloud computing further emphasize these trends. DATABUND, in addition to the municipal umbrella organizations, is in this process going to represent the interests of its members and municipalities in every aspect concerning the implementation of information technologies in the municipal sector. In doing so, we are offering viable and purposeful orientation for the development and implementation of standards or the integration of innovative technologies.
As it is the stakeholder of its members, DATABUND is an unmatched pool of comprehensive knowledge about German municipalities and their IT processes. It thus regards itself as an ideal contact for international inquiries of public administrations. By employing its own working party for international collaboration, DATABUND documents its disposition to take part in international projects concerning public administrations and to support administrations in other countries as well as IT companies that are located there. DATABUND disposes of all means to consult foreign facilities on how to establish and organize public administrations, as well as on which software and IT processes should be employed. DATABUND is in a position to offer project management and consulting services for international projects. By making use of the market-leading software solutions of its members, DATABUND is able to offer all kinds of software for public administrations and adjust this software to the needs and requirements of other countries and their administrations. Even a new development of an individual piece of software can be performed without any problems due to the longstanding experience of the persons acting. As an association, DATABUND does not finance any projects. Yet it has contacts to a wide range of German facilities, some of which have decades of experience in this field. DATABUND provides contact persons specifically assigned for inquiries from Africa, Asia, and Eastern Europe. For developing countries, DATABUND offers the subsequent services mostly free of charge:
